Beyonce Sells Over 430,000 Copies In 24 Hours; Make That 430,001…600,000!

So Beyonce surprised the world, including her “stans” by dropping a full album complete with 17 videos on Friday via iTunes. iTunes crashed from the demand, and while everyone was enjoying this new visual album, Beyonce, my computer crashed. All I could see were snippets of the songs on my little iphone. I finally have my computer up and running, only to learn that Beyonce has sold over 430,000 albums since midnight Friday with no prior hits on the radio, and no marketing campaigns. I’m sorry, make that 430,001 because now that my computer is up and running, I’m downloading and enjoying all the hype, too.
Beyonce shifted slightly over 80,000 in the three hours from 9 p.m. PT to midnight on Thursday evening and on Friday sold another 350,000, according to industry sources putting the total at 430,000. With two more days left in the sales tracking week, the title could sell over 600,000 before the buzzer sounds {…via Billboard}
Normally I’m not excited about a full Beyonce album because honestly I just don’t like many of her lead singles, songs like Girls, Halo, If I Were A Boy, Deja Vu, Ring The Alarm, Best You Never Had although I like her as a performer; I would just download songs I love like Single Ladies, Soldier, Ego, Diva, and We Like To Party.
This is the first time that I’ve bought a full Beyonce album since Dangerously In Love, and dare I say that I may have to bow down. There are so many gritty songs on this album; it’s not filled with those pop-cheesy ballads. Not to mention it looks like Bey up the budget on these videos. Lastly, Beyonce makes me want to go home and drop it-drop it-drop it for my bay-bee (The Mister). I feel like this is a grown woman’s album, and I’m loving it.
I also love that it stars her husband. H-U-S-B-A-N-D! So just stop it with the Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa, and Rihanna comparisons.Similar Posts:
