Courtroom Erupts in Chaos After Man Is Sentenced for Murder

A Grand Rapids, MI., man who pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of a mother of five caused a heated scene after being read his sentence.

Jahleel Hoskins was sentenced in Kent County Circuit Court to 50 to 100 years for the murder charge and an additional 12 to 50 years for tampering with evidence.

After hearing his sentence, Hoskins knocked over a podium he was standing next to and yelled at the family of Latrice Maze, the murder victim.

As Hoskins was manhandled out of the courtroom, a member of Maze’s family can be heard shouting, “I hope you burn in Hell!” The Hoskins and Maze camps then entered into a heated shouting match before more officers broke it up.

Hoskins allegedly killed Maze last March and put her body in a dumpster.
