French Police Under Investigation for Beating Black Woman

A video that appeared on YouTube titled “Shame on the French Police” has sparked an internal affairs investigation, after a black woman was beaten and sprayed at point blank range with tear gas. Interior Minister Manuel Valls commented on the situation after witnessing the video.
“An investigation has been opened. The matter has been referred to the IGPN. We need the whole truth and full transparency… The police must be irreproachable, the vast majority of police officers carry out difficult and remarkable work.”
It’s uncertain at this point what the woman did to warrant being struck with a baton multiple times and sprayed in her face with tear gas.
