Judge Dismisses 3 Molestation Lawsuits Against Elmo Voice Actor (@sesamestreet)

Kevin Clash, the long-time voice actor and the essence of the beloved Sesame Street character Elmo, just got an extremely lucky break as a Manhattan judge dismissed three sex-related lawsuits against him.  Today, Monday July 1st, Judge John Koeltl threw out three lawsuits against Clash as he believes they have far passed the statute of limitations for the cases to be addressed in court.  

Cecil Singleton, Kevin Kiadii, and an unidentified accuser going by the name of John Doe all claim that they engaged in sexual relations with Clash during the ages of 15, 16, and 17. However, they didn’t become aware of the “adverse psychological and emotional effects” until last year.

Judge Koeltl stated, “The complaints in these cases were filed more than six years after the defendant’s conduct with each plaintiff ended.  They were aware of the facts that while minors, the defendant had engaged in sexual activities with them in violation of one or more federal statutes.”
