Say What?: Idris Elba Directing Movie Musical Based On K. Michelle’s Album

You know, you hear about celebrity stories and for the most part nothing really surprises you.  But every once in a while you hear about something that just makes you literally say “Huh?”.  MSN Entertainment News shared that during a recent interview with Chicago’s The Morning Riot show, singer K. Michelle revealed that she’ll be teaming up with actor Idris Elba to make a musical based on her album, Rebellious Soul.

“I took every song on Rebellious Soul and turned it into a conversation and flipped it… I turned the whole album around, Idris heard it. Loved it. And we decided to team up on it. “I didn’t want to make it this celebrity thing. Me and him decided we really wanted it to be focused on the story and fun and laugh and cry. People have been talking to me about a lot of acting roles, but this will be my first time (acting) on the screen.”

The movie is supposed to air on VH1.  No word on when it will happen yet but we’ll be sure to keep our ears open!Similar Posts:
