Wendy Williams Reacts To Paula Deen’s Racial Comments

If you weren’t on Twitter yesterday, you missed one of the funniest days on Twitter in 2013.  Once the internets got a hold of Paula Deen and her racial comments, (read about it here), we all proceeded to weigh in with funny tweets and an epic hashtag #PaulasBestDishes.  So if WE were all moved to say something about it, you know the Queen of Talk Wendy Williams had to say something about it.  She opened up to ET Online about her feelings surrounding the controversy.

“This is something that has been swirling around about Paula Deen for longer than this story.  It’s just a shame to hear that she has admitted in her deposition that she uses the word,” Williams said, going on to say, “She seems to think that it’s okay.  It’s not okay.  It just goes to show you money doesn’t buy you class, it only exposes who you really are. Stupid is as stupid does.”

Williams continued: “She said a lot of ignorant things and a lot of very revealing things about who she is when she’s out of the kitchen.”

You know, it doesn’t shock me.  Paula is from the south and if there’s anywhere were current-day racism runs rampant (and at times unabashedly) it’s in the south.  There hasn’t been any word out of Paula‘s camp so who knows if she’s even going to make a statement or apology.  But I wouldn’t hold my breath.Similar Posts:
