Harlem Haberdashery is one of those uptown staples that truly capture the essence of what it means to come from Harlem. Birthed from black heritage, hip hop and a deep love for fashion from the owners, Guy Louis Sr., Louis Johnson Jr. and Sharene Wood, Harlem Haberdashery has been providing their clients with unique designs and the hottest pieces from up & coming designers for over 20 years.

The boutique (located on 245 Lenox Ave between west 122nd and 123rd street) is the retail expression of 5001 Flavors which is a custom clothing company founded by Guy and Sharene that caters to athletes, celebrities and personalities in the entertainment industry. With their own tailoring staff, they do everything from design to produce special pieces for their upscale clients for award shows, interviews, red carpets and any other personal appearance they were making. Their clientele includes mega stars such as Usher, Will Smith, Diddy, Tupac, Jennifer Lopez and the list goes on and on.

When walking into the retail space, you’ll immediately notice the family pictures on the wall intertwined with historical black figures, the cozy fireplace and clothes and shoes everywhere – sort of like walking into someone’s home.

“The concept was that, you’re coming in here to get fly but you’re also walking back into old Harlem. Most of the family is from Harlem so we’re paying homage to the style and the fashion sense that we feel we’ve gotten from Harlem,” said Sharene Wood.
