Blanc Noir The Non-Athleisure Brand You Should Know

Attention StyleBlazers! For those of you who want their regular clothing to be just as comfy and functional as their activewear, Blanc Noir is the collection you need to know about.

The true beauty of Blanc Noir is that neither the fashion nor the function of the collection are an afterthought. Rather, the designers want what we consider to be everyday clothing to be as functional and comfortable as our active wear. “The four buzzwords for our brand are: comfort, range of motion, timeless fashion, and adaptability,” Vice President Burt Damsky told StyleBlazer.

While athleisure brands go about creating the look by adding a few activewear touches here or there or simply by styling athletic wear to look like streetwear, Blanc Noir takes a completely different approach. Which is why the word “athleisure” is strictly forbidden from being spoken in the showroom. The designers use the technology of activewear to make everyday pieces more functional without compromising on style.

Luxe fabrications permeate the collection, but not just for the sake of using luxe fabrics. Every piece is designed with the consumer in mind, and not a single detail is overlooked in the development of the garments.

Consideration for the consumer is evident in the detailing. Hardware is rubberized such that nothing can be snagged or ripped. A chic insanely soft lambskin leather moto jacket features neoprene blocking at the shoulders and waist to ensure that the wearer has a full range of motion. Your average puffer vest is upgraded from the standard quilted pattern to feature a chevron pattern with paneling so reflective that it actually turns white when light is shined on it. The inside of a hoodie is lined in silk to protect the wearer’s hair, and quite a few pieces boast washable suede.

Our favorite feature has to be that most of the outerwear features thumb holes. Such a simple comfort that we often overlook until it’s presented.

One of their top selling items, the Jewel pant is hand painted to give a polished cracked leather effect, yet they’re so comfortable that you can wear them to yoga class and then wear them as a base layer under your ski gear.

With heavy attention to detail and competitive price points, this brand is taking over. For a list of stockists and online shopping go here.
