The young Kendall Jenner has made a bold career move that ultimately doesn’t change her well-known Kardashian-Jenner face may help her budding modeling career or fall completely flat. She will now be known as just “Kendall,” hold the Jenner and Kardashian, please. When you see her strutting down the catwalk or posing for her life in a Chanel or Balmain campaign, she doesn’t want the weight that her family name carries to deter her from getting any gigs (although, we’re sure that’s what helped her get a lot of gigs in the first place).

If you log on to her agency’s website, The Society, you’ll notice that among the super famous likes of Liu Wen and Lindsey Wixon, Kendall’s name is there just listed as “Kendall” without her last name.

Kendall takes her modeling career pretty seriously, and it’s been working out magnificently well for her thus far. She’s signed to a few agencies, has already walked the Chanel runway, and posed on the cover of multiple magazines during a time when magazines are choosing celebrities over models to sell covers. Luckily for Kendall, she is both a model and a celebrity, which goes back to why she wants (or was encouraged) to drop her last name in the first place.

In an industry where you have to starve yourself to be noticed and live with 10 other models in a 2-bedroom in order to live, you don’t want to be looked at as the one who got in because she’s famous. We think it’s a great move on Kendall’s part!
