Thigh-high boots are the sexy fall footwear every woman should have in their wardrobe.

Celebs such as Kylie Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift have all been spotted in the over the knee styles, and prove that there are a million different ways to style the boot. Whether you want to go sexy and pair with a dress, skirt or shorts, or put over your favorite pair of skinny jeans, thigh-high boots are fashionable and functional.

According to Polyvore, searches are way up for thigh-high boots, having increased 55% in the last two months. We have a feeling it’s because they are perfect for transitioning from fall to winter, and for those who don’t want to pull out the tights just yet, thigh-high boots provide warmth without putting your skin into early hibernation.

Some tips for thigh-high newbies: pick the pair that is proportional to your body. It is not true that you have to be a certain height to rock this trend, just make sure you show a little skin between the top of your boot and the end of your skirt, dress, etc. Also, play with textures and fabrics to find the boot that best fits your style.

If you feel like a dominatrix in a thigh-high leather boot, not that there is anything wrong with that, opt for suede or a brown leather. And heels are totally optional. If you want a pair to wear for date night, go with the stiletto version. If you need a pair for workdays, or running errands, flat work just as well.
