Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour: All the Scoop on Her Giuseppe Zanotti–Designed Shoes

As if you needed to be any more excited for Janet Jackson‘s upcoming tour: High-fashion shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti has custom-created sneakers for the singer’s Unbreakable world extravaganza, and the sketches have us psyched to see how hard Jackson’s going to be bringing it on stage.

Jackson’s one-of-a-kind designs (shown above) are based on the brand’s most popular sneakers, but they have been customized and upgraded in a slew of fun, bright colors (think oranges and blues) to better stand out on stage.

“I am thrilled to have been asked by Janet to create the shoes for her tour. She has been a great friend for many years, and I have the utmost respect for her as one of the most iconic and outstanding artists and style icons of our time,” Zanotti said in a statement. “It is a true honor and pleasure to see her wear and enjoy my special creations made for her. We are so excited to see her on tour. I, [like] all her fans, am really overjoyed.”

But bringing high fashion to the stage isn’t a new concept. Major A-listers including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and even Madonna have been working with top labels to give their tours a high-fashion twist.

For this year’s 1989 World Tour, Swift has relied on a number of Stuart Weitzman styles — a pair of suede over-the-knee “AllLegs” boots, black leather “Cityluxe” booties, her go-to 4-inch glittered “Gran” ankle booties (which she has in just about every color!) and the silver strappy “Streamer” sandals — to accessorize her all-glitter-everything ensembles.

Perry works with high-end labels including Valentino, Moschino, Fausto Puglisi and more for her over-the-top tour ensembles — but it’s Moschino’s Jeremy Scott who really helps her get in touch with her truest, boldest onstage self. (Who could forget her Super Bowl outfits?)

Beyoncé is another star who loves to mix up her designers onstage — her Mrs. Carter tour featured outfits from Emilio Pucci, The Blonds and more — not to mention shoes by celeb favorite Stuart Weitzman.

The Blonds are in high demand for tons of A-list pop star tours: They did Miley Cyrus‘ bedazzled pot-leaf bodysuit for her Bangerz tour (above) and Kesha’s sparkling onesies for her tour with Pitbull (below).

And finally, Madonna, the OG of elaborate onstage outfits, has recruited a crew of designers — Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang and Gucci’s creative drector Alessandro Michele — to help create her custom looks (she’s been giving us sneak peeks on Instagram for weeks!) for the Rebel Heart World Tour, WWD reported.

She previously worked with Jean Paul Gaultier (who famously created the singer’s iconic cone bra), Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Riccardo Tisci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and more. Notably absent from that list? Giorgio Armani, with whom she had a public spat earlier this year after blaming his cape for her infamous stage fall at the Brit Awards.
