Milan Fashion Week Fall 2014 Ends With Feathers, Flannel & Animal Prints

milan fashion week fall 2014 ends

For the last day of Milan Fashion Week, Dsquared2 started the morning with a theatrical 1960s-inspired show opened by Malaika Firth in a messy hairdo, mini dress and feather cape. Two models trailed her in mini white leather looks. The inspiration behind the show was the 1960s film Valley of the Dolls as each model played a psych patient living out her psychotic  fantasies. The collection started with eveningwear, transitioned to sportswear and ended with a few lingerie looks. Though there were endless miniskirts and dresses, pieces that stood out included a floor-length emerald satin coat with feather detailing, colorblocked mink-patched shift jacket and camel double-breasted cape.

Armani’s was just as good as he delivered a grey flannel-filled Giorgio Armani fall 2014 collection with citrus green here and there. Like his Emporio collection, there were a few loosely-tailored suits, but most of the collection featured ladylike pieces. Since we love outerwear, a few of our favorite pieces were coats. One specifically being an ombré grey number starting from a dark grey ending in a light heather. Other favorites were the floor-length gowns perfect for any holiday occasion later this year. Designer Stella Jean stuck to prints, especially animal  in hip-hugging skirts, full dresses and oversized jackets. The fearless print queen ended Milan’s Fashion Week season on a good note.
