According to social media outlets, there’s a new trend in town, and it gives shopping mavens (like us) another reason to run up our credit cards. After the recent announcement of Twitter debuting a shopping feature, Pinterest has jumped on the e-commerce bandwagon by launching its very own buyable pins!

Here’s how it works: now when you’re browsing through vast online boards, you’ll start to see pins that have blue price points – which indicate you can buy what ever it is you’re viewing. Once you find something worth snagging, and you’re ready to check out, all you have to do is click ‘buy,’ and you have the option of paying with a credit card, or using Apple Pay. Sound pretty easy, right?

There’s also a ‘Shop our picks’ tab that allows users to browse Pinterest’s top picks and click on the ‘Shop’ category to only view shoppable pins. And if you’re not ready to buy, you can pin your favorite option and come back to it later. How convenient is that?

In the next few weeks, pins all over the social media outlet will become shoppable – which means products from major retailers like Nordstrom, Michaels and Macy’s will have buyable pins. But the best part about this new venture is that Pinterest isn’t completely fixated on fashion. Looking for a new beauty product? Check. In need of a new home essential? You got it!
