A Solid Argument For Tryin Metallic Lipstick

Beauty trends come, and beauty trends go, which is why you need to be on the cusp of the latest emerging styles before you get left behind. The hottest beauty movement at the moment is all about the lips. After our long-term relationship with matte lipstick, we’re putting the flat formula to the side for something with a little more dimension, especially since summer is practically here.

Metallic lipstick is the latest lip product that beauty mavens are hyped about. We’ve been seeing futuristic gold and silver lipsticks on the runway for a few seasons, but the trend walked off the catwalk to the real streets. The second we spotted an IG post of Kylie’s sought-after lip kit in metal hues, we knew that this trend was about to be spotted EVERYWHERE in no time.

Sure enough, this edgy lip look has been growing, as more and more gals opt for it. With some many brands embracing the trend (Kylie isn’t the only one in metal lipstick game), there are tons of metallic lipsticks to pick from. From drugstore brands, to indies, everyone is mixing up their best batch of metallic lipstick.

Some of favorite metallic lipstick options come from indie brands such as Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Nero Cosmetics, who has a whole squad of metallic options to choose from. If you are more of a drug store beauty kind of girl or ballin’ on a budget, you have to check out the metallic shades that Milani and NYX have to offer!

So what makes metallic lipstick any different than the frosted lip colors of the ’90s? After all, this isn’t the first time that we have seen metallic jewel-toned lip colors. The answer is simple: Metallic lipstick has evolved.

Rather than wearing traditional tones such as bubblegum pink or berry, this era of beauty babes are giving shades that were once deemed for editorial use only a whirl. While a nude metallic lip is a safe and beautiful bet, StyleBlazers are all about trying out the less traditional tones. Our moms may have never thought they would see the day that metallic lips would return, especially in these colors, but we’re doing it and blazin’ it too.
