Artist Spotlight: August Alsina
It’s always good to see an upcoming artist making such an impact on the music industry that they deserve recognition for their work. One artist that is definitely on the come up that has a big following is New Orleans native August Alsina. He is mostly known for his hit single “I Love This Sh*t” featuring Trinidad James and the remix featuring Trey Songz and Chris Brown. His EP Downtown: Life Under The Gun has been a huge success and August is gearing up to release his debut album Testimony on Def Jam in April.
With a quick glance at August Alsina you wouldn’t think he’s an R&B singer and with the lyrics from his songs you would think they would be more form fitting for a rap song. Nonetheless, he has the voice and the real life experiences that he uses in his music to relate to his listeners. He’s been very vocal about losing his older brother back in 2010, and the responsibility he has taken on when it comes to caring for his three little nieces. August is definitely not your typical R&B singer, but it’s his style and his truth within his music that contributes to his growing success.

“Make It Home” is August’s leading single off of his debut album Testimony, the song features Atlanta’s very own Young Jeezy, produced by the Featherstones.

Testimony is expected to release on April 15th and August will be joining 2 Chainz & Pusha T on the 2 Good 2 Be T.R.U. Tour starting in February.Similar Posts:
