Bloggers Are Tired; Why Your Favorite Bloggers Are Taking Breaks!?!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but more and more bloggers are taking breaks and slowing down on their posts. From reading different blogs and talking to my fellow bloggers like Miss Jia, I realized I’m not the only one feeling this fatigue. I’ve been blogging since the summer of 2007; that’s six and a half years. I’ve personally written over 4,036 posts and logged tens of thousands of event photos.  Like any other passion that turns into a business, at some point it feels less like a hobby, and more like a job. When we’re burned out the work gets sloppier, we get lazier, and the posts get meaner. Like I really can’t stand Kanye West right now, but maybe that has nothing to do with blogging. *shrugs*

So why am I telling you this, or even writing this post? Simple, to ask for your patience. I read some of the ugly comments on Necole Bitchie regarding Necole taking a break from blogging during the holidays to reset. I just couldn’t understand the attacks, especially toward someone I’ve known through blogging for almost seven years, who has been hustling non-stop behind the scenes to build her brand, and to encourage other bloggers. Then it hit me, as bloggers we don’t really share a lot of what we’re dealing with behind the scenes, and it’s easy to forget we’re humans and not machines pumping out these stories. 2013 has been a hard year for me as far as blogging because I’ve really considered shutting down this site and selling it to the highest bidder no matter their intention. I know I’m not a super celebrity blogger, but I’ve been consistent and growing since 2007 without having to create scandals or unnecessary drama to keep my name out there. Don’t get it twisted, I was one of the first branded and fastest growing blogs built off a single personality behind Sandra Rose, who has actually help me as well as a lot of bloggers get their start. I’m fortunate to have dedicated and committed readers during all of these years; they’re not the best at leaving comments *wink wink* unless it’s about Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, but they’re a mature crowd always there reading and supporting me; and sending me e-mails of encouragement, or correcting my headlines, or grammar. But I still love and appreciate them all.

Blogging has been a blessing in my life, and it’s gotten me through my share of pain, including losing my mother to cancer in 2007, thus the reason why I started this blog– to escape. However, I’m a married woman of almost ten years with two very active sons, plus another full time family business, and at times it’s just hard to maintain this blogging business. So I don’t know what 2014 will bring, but I’m committed to seeing this blogging thing through for yet another year with our writers Ms Toni and Jade Ashley. I promise you more posts, more quality posts, more personal posts, more give-a-ways, more interviews, more original content, and a less cynical attitude toward celebrities, or less cynical toward some celebs because I really can’t stand Kanye West right now. *rolls eyes* I will try to remain positive, but I will never shy away from the truth. So here’s to 2014. *bottles up*

Hopefully, if I give you more this year, you will give me more in return. So tell a friend about us, share a story you like, like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter, and leave comments so we can really know how you feel. To my fellow bloggers, if you support me, I will continue to support you. Our theme this year is Refresh & Renew. Leggo!Similar Posts:
