Bryant Park Shooter Posts About Incident on Facebook

Even though police have yet to find the gun used in the November 9th Bryant Park shooting, suspected shooter Corey Dunton, 16, may have left bread crumbs for the police online about the violent events that occurred.  Dunton, a Bronx resident who is believed to be a member of the Bloods, posted his intent to go to Bryant Park the day beforehand on his Facebook account.  Following the shooting Dunton posted on Facebook that the police were banging on his door and that he planned to go out with a “bang”.

Witnesses have ID’d Dunton as the alleged shooter, and according to BYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Dunton initially tried to rob 20-year-old Javier Contreras of his $680 “Biggie” Marmot jacket, but after Contreras refused to hand it over Dunton apparently left the area.  He later returned and had multiple skaters clear out of his way as he fired eight shots at Contreras, hitting him in his hand and hip, and also hitting 14-year-old Adonis Mera, an innocent bystander.

Police are still searching for the gun used during the shooting, meanwhile Dunton faces attempted murder charges.
