Celebrate Black History Month With Beyoncé – #28DaysBlackHistory
Every year, when Black History Month rolls around, we tend to hear information about the same important figures in Black History: Martin Luther King, Jr, Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglass, just to name a few. But Beyoncé is seeking to change that. Every day, during the month of February, Beyoncé will be highlighting numerous unsung Black heroes on her website.
“In honor of African American men and women who have worked diligently dedicating their lives to inspire our future, I want to shine a spotlight on their achievements and sacrifices during Black History Month. These are some of the unsung heroes, past and present. For 28 days I will highlight their stories in hopes to inspire, motivate and move you.” – Beyoncé
So far, Beyoncé has highlighted Civil Rights leader Bayard Rustin, pilot Bessie Coleman, scholar Edward Bouchet, fashion designer Ann Lowe and astronaut Mae Jemison. I personally can’t wait until she highlights figure skater Debbie Thomas — I love her! Check out a new post everyday here.Similar Posts:
