Clear Weather Brings Fresh Unisex Kicks To The Masses

For a shoe brand to launch in 2014 —in the sea of so many established labels— you have to have some serious gumption. Coming from heavyweight brands only added fuel to Brandon and Josh Brubaker’s fire to start Clear Weather.

The brothers launched the company with the intention of putting a twist on classic shoes, with comfort as a key component. Using leather and suede, their casual shoes have a familiar feel with a bit of edge with fringed uppers, perforated designs and woven textiles— seen in their star shoe, The Convx.

“Convx means curved or rounded outward,” Josh Brubaker, co-founder of Clear Weather said. “The outsole was inspired by the hull of a boat. We wanted to design a shoe that walked the line of fashion and athletic. We took the more fashion approach by making the outsole out of ultra soft solid rubber, and believe a substantial shoe adds style appeal. The Convx features a simple asymmetrical upper with a rear fringe back flap giving it a moccasin feel.”

For spring The Convx has the shoes in three colors: Honey, Elm grey and Black. They can be found on the website and stockist listed.

In the meantime, get into it!
