Diddy to Star in the Cult Classic Remake of "King of New York" (@iamdiddy @CassieSuper)

Revolt.TV CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs, is uniting with Oscar-winning director/producer Brian Grazer for a remake of the Abel Ferrara 1990 cult classic gangster film, “King of New York.”  According to Page Six, Diddy is in line to possibly play the lead role.  Brian Grazer spoke to Page Six about Diddy’s involvement with the remake.

“Sean optioned the rights to remake ‘King of New York’ for two years.  The film is a cult classic, and it will be great to remake it.  Our version won’t be exactly the same, but will have the same hard-core gangster feel.  Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing in ‘Monster’s Ball,’ and such strong characters sit perfectly with him.”

The original film starred Christopher Walken, Wesley Snipes, and Laurence Fishburne, and revolved around the life of a former drug kingpin who has returned from prison with a mission to take out his competition and give away the profits he earned to build a hospital in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in order to help out those in need.  Sean and Grazer hope that the film will go into production next year.

I bet Abel Ferrara gets nothing. Just like what happened with Nicolas Cage’s Bad Lieutenant.
