DIY Pimple Zapping Indian Healing Clay Mask

One product that beauty enthusiasts rave over is the Indian Healing Clay mask from Aztec Secret. Made from Bentonite clay —a sedimentary clay composed of aged volcanic ash— this deep pore cleansing mask is activated by apple cider vinegar and packs quite a powerful punch.

Since using it, I have found the mask to be super effective for zapping pimples and leaves my skin feeling extra smooth and renewed. I wouldn’t recommend using it more than three times a week, because it is very strong and may overwork the skin.

What You Will Need:

  • Plastic/Wooden Bowl
  • Plastic/Wooden Spoon
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Facial Wash Cloth

Please note that this mask is activated by a chemical reaction and should not be mixed using any metal containers or utensils.

It is very important NOT to use any metal containers or mixing utensils while making this mask.

To get started I place two parts powder into my plastic bowl. I like for my mask to be the consistency of melted ice cream, so I use a 2:1 ratio for powder to liquid.

Next, I add in my apple cider vinegar. Immediately the mask and ACV will start to fizz and foam up, this is your indicator that the mixture is indeed working and ready to be mixed.

Mix your mask until both the powder and ACV are even and smooth. Again I like a thicker mask, however; the thickness of the mask is really a personal preference.

Once mixed, I applied the mask to my face as evenly as possible. I left it to sit for 10 minutes. Because it does harden I would recommend avoiding getting the product in your hair and brows.

Once the mask sets and begins to crack, you can use warm water and a facial cleansing cloth gently remove. You may need to go over a few areas several times to remove everything.

And here is my skin post mask! I find that the results improve overnight. If I have any serious pimples I do my mask before bed, let my skin settle as I sleep, and they are clear by morning.
