Father John Misty Discusses His Cover of Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs"

Earlier this week, Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) dropped by CBC Music to perform a cover of Arcade Fire‘s “The Suburbs”. Now, in a video interview with NME, he’s given some background on how the cover came about.

Tillman says he was reluctant to play a cover at all, but management insisted. “On the Internet it gets spun into, like, I just fucking love doing these covers, I’ve got so many under my belt,” he says. “[As if] I just love whipping them out at a moment’s notice, and regaling the Internet with reappropriated music… but I do love that song.” Watch the interview below.
