Former NFL Player & ESPN Anaylst Charged w/ Assaulting Female

Former NFL player and ESPN analyst Hugh Douglas appeared in Hartford superior court on Tuesday, in connection with his recent arrest for allegedly attacking a woman.

Police claim Douglas attacked a female at the Marriot Hotel at Adriaen’s Landing, and court documents state he “grabbed her by the neck” and “slammed her into the walls several times.” However, Douglas had another explanation for her marks and bruises.

He told investigators that the woman sustained the injuries during a particularly intense bout of rough sex. Despite his claims, Douglas was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.

Douglas was fired from ESPN a while back for calling fellow anaylst Michael Smith an uncle Tom and threatening to beat him up.

He’s due back in court on October 21.
