Hot 97’s Ebro Trolls Battle Rap: "It’s Boring & For Children" (@oldmanebro @streetstarnorbe)

Ebro put himself under the microscope recently when he decided to tweet a comment that is negative in essence towards the culture of Battle Rap, and he was bombarded with tweets from fans who felt disrespected by his words as a result.  Ebro posted on July 5th, “Battle rap is boring and for children,” which sparked a wave of upset reactions from all types of fans of the battle culture.  Even battlers such as Cortez, or Battle Rap associates such as Sara Kana and Street Star Norbe voiced their opinions on Ebro’s choice of words.

Ebro went on to tweet that he actually likes Battle Rap, but he just said that to see how quickly he’d get a reaction out of people.  He also tweeted that his words should motivate battlers and those involved with setting up events to up their game when it comes to putting on a show.  Many who have responded to him simply don’t believe he follows Battle Rap, nor does he truly understand the culture and the movement that Battle Rap represents for hip-hop.
