Iggy Azalea Just Owned The American Music Awards Nominations With Six Nominees @iggyazalea

It’s officially Iggy Azalea‘s year. When the 2014 American Music Awards nominations were announced on Monday morning (October 13), Iggy Igg led the pack with six nods, including Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Favorite Female Artist. Even better, she’ll be able to hang with her pal Charli XCX, since the “Boom Clap” singer will be make her performance debut on the show, which airs on November 23 live on ABC from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live.

Other top nominees for the fan-voted awards show include Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and John Legend, who have five bids each and Lorde, who earned four nominations. Just behind with three each were: Beyoncé, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic and One Direction. Drake, Sam Smith and Bastille scored two apiece.

Pretty much all of those acts will be vying for the Artist of the Year crown, which features 10 nominees this year: Iggy Azalea, Beyoncé, Luke Bryan, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Lorde, One Direction, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams. That list will be narrowed to 5 based on fan votes received through November 13, with the winner determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period.

Iggy and Charli could take home one of the night’s biggest honors, Single of The Year, which will pit Igg’s “Fancy” against Legend’s “All of Me,” MAGIC!’s, “Rude,” Perry’s “Dark Horse” and Pharrell’s “Happy.” Winners of this year’s AMA’s will be determined through online and Twitter voting beginning today (except for New Artist of the Year), with one vote a day accepted through the AMAvote.com site, as well as once per day on Twitter by including the nominee’s name, category name and #AMAs within a tweet.
