Joanna Newsom Screens Paul Thomas Anderson-Directed "Divers" Video

Joanna Newsom has shared the first glimpse of her “Divers” video tonight– a song that appears on her upcoming album of the same name, which comes out October 23. The video was screened at the IFC Center in New York. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and shot at the NYC studio of artist Kim Keever (whose work is heavily featured in the packaging for Divers), the clip features Newsom shrouded in ethereal clouds designed by Keever. As previously reported, the “Divers” video will screen at theaters across the United States from October 16-22, and will also screen in UK theaters on October 27.

As previously reported, Newsom recently criticized Spotify, calling it a “cynical and musician-hating system” and “the banana of the music industry.” “It just gives off a fume. You can just smell that something’s wrong with it.”
