Kobe Bryant Fires Back at Jim Brown’s African-American Comments (@kobebryant)

On Thursday Dec. 12th, Kobe Byrant responded to comments from NFL legend Jim Brown, who said Bryant was “confused” about African-American culture “because he was raised in another country.” Brown made the remarks in an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show.

Bryant lived in Italy from 1984 until 1991. A day after the news of Brown’s quote spread, Bryant took to Twitter to defend himself.

Bryant also addressed the topic after practice Thursday. “It surprised me in the sense that it just came out of left field. I’ve never even met him,” Bryant said of Brown. “I do think it’s a great opportunity to have these conversations, to have this discussion.”
