Lorde Birthers? Singer’s Birth Certificate Reveals Lorde’s Real Age…

So I’m guilty of questioning Lorde’s real age. During the Grammys, I innocently tweeted, “Are we sure Lorde is 16?” and I will not even bother to re-post the replies, but let’s just say there are a lot of people who don’t think that she is 16, 17, or anywhere near a teen. So to end the conspiracy theories among the Lorde Birthers, someone actually paid $17.02 to get a copy of Lorde’s birth certificate from New Zealand.

Turns out her real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor. O_O Miss Ella is indeed 17 years old, born November 7, 1996.

Luckily, Lorde has a sense of humor about the dog-years jokes, even introducing herself as an older woman during a Pre-Grammy event, “Hi, I’m Ella and I’m actually 45.” BUT…She’s still a kid, so be nice.  {Source 1}{Source 2}
