Mathew Knowles Suing Tabloid For Reporting An Estranged Relationship With Beyoncé

Ever since Beyoncé let go of her father Mathew Knowles as her manager, the word on the street has always been that their relationship has been rough. You don’t even see pictures of her hanging out with him anymore. Add the divorce of Mathew from Tina Knowles and it seems pretty clear to me that the relationship between father and daughter is different. However, Mathew is fed up and is taking action against those who claim that that is the case. In a statement issued to E! News, Mathew insists that the relationship with Beyoncé is fine and London’s Sun magazine is to blame for saying otherwise.
“My daughters and my family mean the world to me,” he said. “The barrage of repeated falsehoods spawned by the British Sun‘s defamatory article has been exhausting and personally damaging to me. No matter how many papers it sells or web hits it generates, The Sun, like any newspaper, needs to maintain a basic level of journalistic integrity. The Sun crossed the line when it went after my family. The Sun needs to be held responsible for its lies in a court of law. This happens too often to too many people, and it is simply unfair.”
Mathew is suing for an unspecified amount in damages, defamation and breach of contract. Since the article in question was posted back in March and it’s now the end of June…I’m thinking that it would have been better if he reacted to it sooner. Because at this point, it seems like he’s just trying to get some money out of it. But maybe that’s just me…Similar Posts:
