Mom Defends Nine-Year-Old Son’s KKK Halloween Costume

A nine-year-old boy’s KKK Halloween costume had his neighbors seriously offended when he came to their doors asking for candy in Craigsville, Virginia.  Apparently the boy thought the costume “looked cool” after seeing it worn in the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes.”  His mother, Jessica Black, also said that it has become a family tradition for her family to wear the KKK costume at some point, but that she also warned him of how people will react if he chose to wear it.

“I did tell him that, you know, if you do it, you know there’s going to be people talking about you, there’s going to be people saying bad things about you when you do wear it,” she told him, but she doesn’t see anything wrong with what he wore.  She has been receiving death threats since her son wore the costume.
