NY Teen Who Attacked Woman in Violent "Smack Cam" Game Arrested

Rochester police made arrested a 16-year-old Wednesday (Jan. 8th) in connection to a disturbing “Smack Cam” video posted online. Police issued a Violation of Probation warrant for Devin Alexander. Alexander is suspected of being in a video depicting a teen viciously striking a woman in the head.

The video was shot in Rochester, NY and depicts a teenage boy who jokes that he is going to strike a woman exiting a corner convenience store with a snowball, then smashes her in the side of the head. Police said they have identified the other people responsible for the video, but the victim has not yet been identified.

The video, posted by a local activist on YouTube, depicts Devin Alexander initally holding a snowball while giggling and dancing. He tells the camera he is “about to smack that old lady with a snowball.” When the woman walks out of the store, the kid swings his arm and strikes her in the side of her face. She does not go down, and barely moves, but rather looks at the laughing teens as they celebrate, then run away.

They all run down the street yelling “smack cam” and a voice on the video says they are worried police will be coming. They were eventually arrested by said police.

The video of the incident is in the above.
