One Direction Could Be First Billion Dollar Boy Band (@onedirection)

Boy Bands have come and gone since the 1950’s, but current flavor One Direction is about to be the first ones to hit the one billion mark. According to Business Insider, more than half of the group’s astronomical income is from ticket sales.
Their upcoming movie, “This is Us,” is expected to gross $150 million at the box office, which will be added to the $15 million their DVD, “Up All Night: The Live Tour,” brought. Other merchandise has totaled a whopping $67.5 million.
