Phonte Critiques Rappers in "Rappers as TV Shows" on Twitter (@phontigallo @Tip)

Rapper Phonte took part in the “Rappers as TV Shows” game on Twitter recently and offered his take on which TV show best describes the many rappers involved in hip-hop culture, both past and present.  For some, he showed great praise, while with others he shared some blunt criticism about their talents and successes, or lack thereof.

For example, Phonte tweeted that he views T.I. as the “Boardwalk Empire” of rap because he feels T.I. is “A notable contender with all the right ingredients but lacks that one intangible to place it among the greats.”  Meanwhile, he showed great praise for the likes of Biggie Smalls a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. when he compared him to “How To Make It In America,” because in his eyes, it’s “A promising show that was cut short after two seasons just as it was starting to find its voice.”
