Queens of the Stone Age Knock Jay Z Over Festival Experience (@qotsa)

Queens of the Stone Age was just one of several groups to perform a couple of weeks ago at Jay Z’s “Mae in America” festival in Philadelphia, and the band was less than happy about the experience. In an interview with CBC Radio 2’s “Strombo Show,” QOTSA criticized Hov. “That guy’s a kook, you know,” band member Josh Homme said. “He has his security frisking the bands on the way in.”

When security asked to search his bag, Homme threatened not to play the festival. “No one’s ever done that,” he said. Referring to Jay Z, he said, “YOu shouldn’t frisk my guys, you should f*ck off.”

Homme went on to say that Jay gave the band a bottle of champagne and asked if they would pose with it for a photo. “I was like, ‘That’s not a gift, that’s a marketing tool.’ I destroyed it, ’cause I thought it was rude overall.

At one point in the interview, a thumping noise can be heard. Homme said, “This is me breaking Jay Z’s gifts.” “People never say anything bad about Jay Z , do they?”
