TDE’s Punch recently sat down for an interview, and spoke on a big move him and the clique almost made. Apparently, TDE was in talks to sign Chicago star Chance the Rapper, but things just didn’t end up working.
“I believe Dave Free was talking to Chance and having conversations,” said Punch. “I know Chance and Ab-Soul have a good relationship. But it was just talks.”
Punch didn’t explain why it didn’t work between Chance and TDE, but Chance’s comments in a past Rolling Stone interview might explain it.
“There’s no reason to sign to a label,” said Chance. “It’s a dead industry.”
