‘The Butler’ Director Lee Daniels Says America Is More Racist With A Black President
I don’t know if you are a fan of Piers Morgan and his show on CNN but I have to say that he’s one of the people I enjoy seeing on TV. Piers often deals with heavy issues straight on, with his opinion clearly stated. Recently he had the director of The Butler Lee Daniels on the show, along with stars Lenny Kravitz and Cuba Gooding Jr. During the show, Piers asked Lee if he thought America has become more or less racists since the election of President Barack Obama in 2008.
Lee Daniels shared that he believes America has indeed become more racist and people are showing their true colors now that America has a Black president. Lee also pointed out that when he ended the movie, he ended it on a note of hope. On purpose. But, as he was coming out of the editing room after completing the movie, he heard about the Trayvon Martin shooting. I’m sure it was hard to finish a movie that ends with hope of better race relations then hear about a case that knocks you back to almost square one. Watch the video, when you continue…
