The SoJones Drama: Taylor Swift in an African White world?

We all knew what Yo Gotti was talking about when he wanted his life to be ‘cocaine crazy’, but we at SoJones never expected to see Taylor Swift taking over Africa. On this latest venture into Hollywood raising kids and adults, we see Taylor Swift studying what makes Africa so fascinating in the first place. According to an article on Quartz about ‘Wildest Dreams’:

The video, directed by Joseph Kahn partly in an undisclosed location in Africa (and partly in California) appears to be inspired by the 1985 filmOut of Africa—also criticized for its colonial glam bent. It’s essentially a visual representation of Wainaina’s tongue-in-cheek essay:

First Silicon Valley, now Africa.

“In your text, treat Africa as if it were one country. It is hot and dusty with rolling grasslands and huge herds of animals and tall, thin people who are starving. Or it is hot and steamy with very short people who eat primates…The continent is full of deserts, jungles, highlands, savannahs and many other things, but your reader doesn’t care about all that, so keep your descriptions romantic and evocative and unparticular.”

Well according to the hood and all the latinas still shaking that jelly for relevancy, we reached to the church of Lurch for advice.  He told us to listen to this awesome poem by Jack the poet for advice on what Africa should do in the next ten years so we have diversity and not a black eve of doom:

DESERT PLAINS

 

OVER THE PLAINS THE WIND BLOWS DUST IN TO THE NOON DAY AIR.

THE LIZARDS SETTLE CAMFLOUGED ON THE SCATTERED ROCKS OF THE DESOLATE GROUND.

THE LIONS LAZILY GROWL AT EACH OTHER IN PLAYFUL SPATS AS THEIR SKINNY TALES WHIP FLYIES FROM THEIR BACKS.

GREEN FOILAGE LITTERS THE BARREN LANDSCAPE WHICH OFFERS VERY LITTLE SHADE.

INSECTS BY THE NUMBERS HOVER OVER AND BITE THE LOCAL STEER AS THEY GRAZE IN THE SUNLIGHT.

THE RARE BIRD IS SEEN AT THE NEIGHBORING WATERING HOLE,

WHERE THE HIPPO BATH IN THE HEAT OF NOON DAY,

THE MOUNTAINS FORM A HUGE FENCE IN THE HORIZON.

DISTANST BUT VISIBLE WITH THE NAKED EYE IS THE MOUNTAINS REACHING TO THE HEAVENS WHERE THEY ANNOUCE THEIR GLORY.

THE CRACKED VEINS OF THE EARTH REFLECT DRY TEMPERATURES WITH VERY LITLLE RAIN.

THE FERRETS RACE AMONG THE DYING TREES AND THE MICE BURROW INTO THE DIRT ESCAPE THE IMPOSSIBLE LEVEL OF HEAT.

THE SLOW DAILY LIFE OF THE DESERT PLAIN CREATURES AND THE CREATURES THEY ENCOUNTER.

Taylor Swift is our favorite singer!

So what do you think about this video? It’s already very popular, while in the hood all there is is dumb drama about broke people and conspiracies. We think that Hollywood is a huge savior to those who want to see a white Africa, of all things. If we can have a coding rapper in Silicon Valley preaching knowledge of Self, I guess we can have an internet connected world where the pop star is a real worldwide maven.
