Tom Cruise Faces $1 Billion Lawsuit For "Mission Impossible" (@TomCruise)

Tom Cruise, Paramount Pictures, and ten other defendants have a massive lawsuit filed against them for the amount of $1 billion, by screenwriter Timothy Patrick McLanahan who claims that Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, was actually stolen from his 1998 script for his aspiring film, Head On. Mr. McLanahan alleges that he shopped the script around to various individuals hoping to get it picked up and put into production, but was eventually stolen by Cruise’s agent at Creative Artist Agency, Rick Nicita. Rick is one of the people who got to lay eyes on McLanahan’s script, according to his suit, and that is how the story allegedly got taken from him.

According to the lawsuit McLanahan states, “I immediately recognized that he script for this movie had been illegally written and produced from Head On’s 1998 copyright.”

Neither Tom or anyone else involved in the lawsuit have commented on the matter yet, until they are able to assess the situation and his specific allegations. A case demanding this kind of money could potentially last a very long time if it proceeds in court.
