Usher Being Sued for Allegedly Stealing Hit Song ‘Caught Up’ (@usher)
Three men who claim they wrote a song called “Caught Up” back in 2002 are accusing Usher of lifting their work.
Their song is about a man lost in love. Usher recorded a song two years later called “Caught Up,” which is also about a man lost in love. It blew up the charts and was featured on his album, “Confessions.”
The guys – Zacharia Edwards, Mitch Moses and Vince McClean – claim they played it for an exec at Arista Records – Usher’s label – and the guy then played it for LA Reid. The men never heard from the label again, but a couple of years later they heard the song on the radio.
They’re suing for unspecified damages.
