Gone are the days of harshly exfoliating your skin with 3D microbeads, broken bits of sugar or rice. Say, “hello” to acid toners.

Don’t get us wrong, scrubs are good for the body (neck down) but when it comes to the face, the abrasive rubbing can sometimes cause more damage than good; especially if you suffer from acne, blemishes, sensitive skin or rosacea. Your face and the skin around it is thinner and sometimes has a different reaction to product that are used let’s say on the hand, this is where acid toners come in.

Once OK’d by a professional, you can use adic toners regularly.

Certain products are specific for various skin concerns however, the main point to note about these beauty items is that they are a great alternative to exfoliating, and therefore we advise to omit this step. Mainly due to the fact that you won’t need it!

Below we have outlined a range of acids that may or may not already exist in your skincare routine and what they are known for:

  • Lactic (AHA) – Fantastic for resurfacing and great for dehydrated/dry skin.
  • Glycolic (AHA) – Helps to stimulate the skin for better collagen production. It is also resurfacing.
  • Malic (AHA) – Similar to the above, Malic acid resurfaced and promotes collagen production.
  • Salicylic (BHA) – The best one for acne-prone skin and it’s surprisingly gentle.
  • PHA’s (Poly hydroxy acids) – These are those skin instants which are in need of hydration and deep penetration of product afterwards.

Without further ado, please see below a list of our favorite acid toners and what they do.
