Women in Venezuela Being Robbed of Their Ponytails

Women in the city of Maracaibo in Venezuela are being robbed for their ponytails by a group known as “piranhas.”
The robbers will hold women at gunpoint and order them to tie their hair into ponytails so that they can cut it off and sell it to beauty salons as hair extensions, according to Venezuelan digital newspaper Informe 21.
The mayor of Maracaibo, Eveling de Rosales, said “men and women were being placed to guard and avoid this happening again.”
