A quick gander at your Instagram news feed will produce a ten fold of women who would rather show their skin than outfits that actually involve clothing. Thankfully, diversity isn’t just a buzz word; it’s also extending past headlines and into the trenches, where women are offering up new and improved versions of what “edgy” really means.

While most of us would consider Miley’s nipple pasties or Gaga’s armadillo heels to be examples of fashion moving forward, covering up is without a doubt more worthy of headlines. Sex sells for the head honchos of retail giants, but Muslim fashion bloggers are growing in numbers and proving just the opposite: that modesty and style can intertwine. Earlier this year, Uniqlo became one of the first mainstream brands to take advantage of the niche community by collaborating with Hama Tajima on the “LifeWear Collection;” a capsule line of skirts, trousers and dresses tote long hemlines without the elderly or stuffy aesthetic.

Additionally, research firm Dinar Standard reports that the estimated 6 million Muslims living in America hold almost $100 billion buying power, but still lack adequate representation within the inclusive fashion industry. Until those barriers are broken down, this community of fashion bloggers are serving inspo and motivating us all to make sure that the way we dress ultimately mirrors integrity and self respect.

Keep reading to see 10 of our favorite style mavens who are doing just that.
