Alberta Ferretti’s Limited Edition 2015 collection is a Midsummer Night’s Dream meets a fairy princess in Versailles.

The collection speaks to the opulence of the ground floor of the 19th century mansion wherein her new showroom is located. Ferretti cites the decor of her new Parisian office as the inspiration for her limited edition collection, which must have been overtly obvious as guests of the show observed similarities between the motifs throughout the showroom and the intricate embroidery and patterns on the bohemian gowns presented.

The collection features soft, romantic dresses on models with braided crowns accented with chandelier earrings. Gold lace is a key feature on many of the dresses in hues of blue, red, soft lavender, pale gold, and white.

Above the knee dresses remained congruent with the renaissance romanticism of the collection, while the white gowns that closed the presentation were appropriate for a modern boho bride.

An ongoing theme of Couture week thus far seems to be a softer more feminine side of some of fashion, which is a welcome change after seeing so much edge and masculine influence. Now seems to be the ideal time for us to embrace the femininity of being a woman.
