Beachy waves are so 2014 … at least in Paradise.
Clare Crawley may not have found love last season on Bachelor in Paradise, but the hairstylist based in Sacramento, California, returned to the tropical ABC oasis last night donning a double fishtail braid that earned rave reviews from the Twitterverse.

To recreate Crawley’s beach ready tresses, stylist Christi Gonzalez of Blowout Junkie, Chicago, suggests starting with with day-old hair. “Use a rat tail comb to divide your hair with a slight part and clip it out of the way,” the braid expert tells People.com. “Then divide the remaining hair into two equal parts. Take a smaller piece from one of the halves and cross it over the top adding it to the other section until you get to the nape of the neck. Now repeat that process with the other half of your hair and tie the two sections together with an elastic band.” Sound confusing? Check out these how-to videos on YouTube.
On After Paradise, ABC’s new post–Bachelor in Paradise talk show, it was revealed that there aren’t professional hair and makeup teams on set for the cast. But both Clare and Ashley Salter are hair stylists (Ashley S. gave a haircut live on Monday’s #afterparadise), so they definitely have a leg (or should we say blowout) up on the competition. It’s also important to note that Ashley Iaconetti came with her own suitcase filled with makeup. Apparently, it takes a lot of products to get that beach glow.

Ashley I. also opened up about Jillian Anderson’s departure. In the end, her neon “black tie” bikini and omnipresent black box weren’t enough to save the TV news producer from the season’s first elimination. The fitness buff lost out to Jake Pavelka’s runner-up Tenley Molzahn, who snagged the final rose after planting a giant kiss on last season’s villain, JJ Lane.
Ashley I. told Chris Harrison, “I think she kind of got herself in the bro zone, in the friend zone, and she couldn’t quite figure herself out of it.”
Or maybe he just couldn’t see himself introducing his mom to a girl in a neon cutout bikini?
