Kyemah McEntyre came perilously close to breaking the Internet, as she attempted to get revenge on those who bullied her in high school. The 18-year-old New Jersey teen sketched, designed, created and then wore her very own prom dress, after delivering a strong message against bullying to her classmates.

“Don’t let anyone define you,” she wrote to her fellow Cicely Tyson School of Performing Arts students via her Twitter and Instagram accounts. “Beautiful things happen when you take pride in yourself… This is for those always being labeled as, ‘ugly’ or ‘angry.’ Thank God, stereotypes are just opinions.” The beautiful dress, which you can see for yourself in the pictures below, find the East Orange, New Jersey fashion creator stunting in a low-cut, full-skirted gown.

Her series of inspirational quotes roused the champions of social media, as the bullied black teen devised the hashtag #kyebreaktheinternet that certainly almost did just that. Hundreds of retweets and favorites from Twitter supporters helped buoy the young, confident designer-in-training’s trending topic and immaculate dress. Within moments, both went viral, and proved that McEntryre’s intentions would keep the haters and negative-Nancy’s at bay.

McEntrye, who will start studying at Parsons School of Design in the fall, commented on just how the impact of her viral moment has affected her creativity, saying via her Instagram page, “The most creative people are the ones who step out of their comfort zone and take advantage of the world around them. Being exposed to all kinds of people and cultures is the use for my artwork.”

The slightly sexy, somewhat unexpected outfit might’ve been easily at home at this year’s Met Gala, yet McEntrye has proven that she won’t be defined by anyone’s standards. Her red, patterned creation was also meant to showcase her proud African descent, which one normally doesn’t see trending online, especially for positive purpose.

After working so hard on the outfit and stunning the game with its elegance and beauty, McEntryre rightfully took home the honor of prom queen at her school’s end of year ceremony.
