Cannes 2015: Lupita Nyong’o Already Won the Red Carpet, See Her Gorgeous Gucci Gown from Every Angle

Lupita Nyong’o’s famous “Nairobi blue” Oscars dress put her at the top of Best Dressed lists in 2014. And the actress proves once again she’s the master of wearing vibrant colors, killing the style competition at the Cannes Film Festival’s Opening Ceremony Wednesday in a “grasshopper green” gown, which happens to be another sentimental dedication to Africa.

Nyong’o selected a custom pleated Gucci chiffon design featuring a mini capelet and embellished hand-painted floral crystals along the plunging neckline and at the waist. (The gif above proves that the dress was made to twirl in.) Plus, since no Cannes look would be complete without some mega jewels, she finished the ensemble with diamond drop Chopard earrings and a coordinating double-strand head band.

“It’s #GrasshopperGreen for @festivaldecannes opening night,” she shared of her striking ensemble on Instagram. “Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason #cannes2015.”
