Chinese-American Designers You Should Know

The biggest fashion event on the East Coast takes place tonight at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center.

This year’s theme is China: Through the Looking Glass, and our favorite elite fashion enthusiasts will don the best chinoiserie as they grace the steps of the famed museum. The new exhibit will be open to the public from May 7 to August 16th and will include a retrospective of China’s influence on fashion over the years. High fashion pieces will be juxtaposed with the Chinese art that influenced their design.

The effect of China’s influence on western fashion and culture is undeniable, and here are some of the great Chinese fashion designers you should know as we may see a few pieces from them tonight and throughout the exhibit.
