Christie Brinkley Posts Makeup-Free Selfie at 61, Excuse Us While We Go Reapply Our Eye Cream

The barefaced selfie is a time-honored celebrity tradition — it seems you can’t get your “A-lister” card without Instagramming at least one intimate look at your makeup-free face. Christie Brinkley, 61, is not only joining the barefaced brigade, but, at 61, she’s putting everyone else to shame.

“Getting ready to appear on HSN. The only thing I have on my skin is my Recapture Day Cream and Refocus Eye Serum,” she wrote on a photo of herself in the makeup chair before appearing on the shopping network. “This is my first step everyday routine before applying make up. I personally recommend trying it for yourself. If you start now in just 4 weeks you will see smoother, firmer, younger looking skin in time for Thanksgiving!”

She followed up with a fully made-up photo, and frankly, the only real difference we see is a smoky eye and some work with a curling iron. So we wouldn’t blame you if you immediately opened a new tab to investigate her eponymous line of skincare products.

Not that anyone’s surprised that Brinkley looks as good without makeup as she does with it. She also looks better in a bikini than most people do in their wildest dreams. And she’s passing on her secrets to daughter Sailor, 15, who is following her mom’s footsteps into the modeling world. Most importantly? “Have pity for [the haters]” who say negative things, she said.
