Coach Will Be Making Its NYFW Runway Debut

Coach is hoping a New York Fashion Week runway show can help bring the brand the revitalization it desperately needs.

In the middle of rebranding itself, Coach announced it will be making its NYFW debut amid reports that its revenue has dropped 12 percent in the fourth quarter.

In an effort to make itself a high fashion brand again, Coach has reduced its frequent sales in hopes customers will buy at full price, rather at the discounts they are used to. The brand is also in the midst of remodeling their storefronts.

All this takes time, of course, and Coach is hoping a runway show will add some value to its brand.

While Coach held its first presentation last year at NYFW, this will be the first runway show for the handbag designer. This September, Coach needs to get some big names on their runway if they want any hope of surviving this major reshifting.

Coach has been making headlines for their latest marketing campaign, starring famous pups including Lady Gaga’s dog Asia and Ariana Grande’s puppy.

And while teens might still love Coach, that is the demographic the brand is trying to steer clear of. Call it the Michael Kors effect.
