Demi Lovato Is Feeling Herself This Week (And We Don’t Blame Her)

Demi Lovato’s call for a curvy Barbie was capped off with one of the Disney star’s most revealing photo shoots ever.

The “Cool For The Summer” singer is wearing sheer blue panties and leopard print wedges on the cover of Complex‘s October/November issue, posing on an inflatable banana. In the risque shoot, Lovato shows off and talks about her newfound love of her curves. The 23-year-old has been very open with her struggles with bulimia and anorexia, and it is inspiring to see Lovato finally embracing her body. Citing the Kardashians as her inspiration, Lovato knows her body is not perfect, and that is not a bad thing.

“It’s liberating. It’s not like I have something to hide. I went to this pool party, and somebody got a picture of me in bad lighting. It was just cellulite city. I saw it, and I cringed at first. Then I read the caption underneath, and it was like, “I’m so proud of this girl. She’s real. Even though she may have cellulite, she’s not letting it stop her from rocking this bathing suit. She looks awesome. She’s worked hard.” I saw that, and I replied to it. I was like, “At first I cringed when I saw this, but this makes me so happy to see.”

Along with her confidence, Lovato also opened up about her longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, and those rumors about Ruby Rose, (They were not in a relationship, just in case you were wondering).

However, Lovato’s love for her curves got her in a bit of trouble this week, after using Zendaya’s Barbie moment to offer herself as the model for the next doll. Zendaya’s fans accused Lovato of trying to take the shine away from Zendaya, causing Lovato to take down her tweet.

While there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance, we don’t think Lovato had any ill intentions when she tweeted Barbie with her suggestion. With her fifth studio album titled “Confident” releasing next month, and an Instagram account full of body positive movements such as Makeup Free Monday, we are definitely Team Lovato.

So go ahead girl, and feel yourself every day of the week.
